The Army Corps of Engineers opened the Marion Reservoir last Wednesday when the reservoir became full of water from recent rains. The area has received over 20 inches in July, and the excess moisture caused the closure of the recreation areas at the reservoir. The reservoir is in flood control operations due to downstream flooding and those wanting to use the recreation areas should call for an update on the situation before going to the reservoir.

MOPS is coming to Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church. MOPS is Mothers of Preschoolers (age birth through kindergarten). MOPS reaches out to mothers of preschoolers and provides an open, accepting atmosphere where specific and significant needs of today's preschool mothers are met. The goal of MOPS is to provide a caring ministry for mothers of preschoolers so they can nurture their children.

Northwest Kansas Technical School admissions officials have announced the winter enrollment of Jeffrey Klassen, son of Jay Klassen of Hillsboro. Klassen will be studying in the communications technology department at the Goodland school.

Women from the Hillsboro community have volunteered their Tuesdays and Thursdays to help design and create a quilt for the Tabor college fall musical "Quilters."
