Tabor College has secured several new teaching faculty members for the upcoming school year. Aleen Ratzlaff will teach basic communication courses. Dr. Ruth Meyer will fill the vacancy in the mathematics department. Holly Miller will join the psychology department.
School board members approved the 1993-1994 budget after hearing no public comment during the budget hearing. The school district's mill levy will be 47.758.
Tim Diener was the honored guest for a birthday party Monday evening. The Paul Pankratzes, Truman Diener, and Glenn Diener enjoyed homemade ice cream and cake with him at the Diener home.
A Wisconsin firm will be upgrading Hillsboro's downtown sewer lines after submitting the low bid. The city council offered the contract to Visu-Sewer Clean and Seal for $213, 641.
Combine operator Lance Hofer escaped injury when his gleaner broke an axle and spun out of control and overturned near an intersection three miles north of Chase.
Parkside Homes has a new 12-passenger Collins bus with two wheelchair areas and a lift. The bus was purchased through a grant from Wichita Greyhound Charities. Donations will pay the remainder of the cost, and contributions are being accepted.
