New school personnel at USD 410 for the 1993-94 school year include Mike Moran, elementary counselor; Darlene Bartel, elementary computer keyboards; Rod Just, fourth grade; Renda Robertson, third grade; Janet Hein, Chapter I aid; Norma Mohn, special education; and Aaron Wecas, technology.
A total of 67 family members converged on the Tabor College campus to celebrate Viola C. Wiebe's 90th birthday Aug. 13 - 15.
The Hillsboro swim team ended the season with a party. Top swimmer awards were awarded to Grant Wiens, 11-12 boys; Mandi Duerksen, 9-10 girls; Mike Vogt, 8 and under boys; Nolan Frantz, 13-14 boys; Jon Fast, 15-18 boys; Adrianna Dalke, 13-14 girls; Bobby Loewen, 9-10 boys; Alisa Jost, 8 and under girls; Miriam Dewey, 11-12 girls; and Beth Donahue, 15-18 girls.
Descendants of the Jacob W. And Kathrina (Tina) Harder Friesen family gathered Sunday, Aug. 1, through Wednesday morning at Cross Wind Conference Center near Hesston for a family reunion. The family totals 140 descendants, 70 of whom gathered for this occasion.
Area students graduating from Emporia State University include Kaye R. Bartel, rural Hillsboro; Ruth Anne Klaassen, Hillsboro; and Michele Smith, Marion.
