R.J. and Tillie Bartel and Elmer and Edith Rempel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries with an open house Sunday, Jan. 26, in the fellowship hall of the Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

R.J. Bartel and Tillie Rempel and Elmer Rempel and Edith Helmer were married Jan. 30, 1942, in a double wedding in the Bruderthal Mennonite church near Hillsboro by Rev. Arnold E. Funk.

Drawings for the Wiebe Media Center, named after John and Harriet Wiebe of Omaha, Neb., who gave a $50,000 grant for the library and later gave $200,000 for a scholarship fund, have been completed. The cost of the building will run $480,000 for the 8,100 square foot addition.

The Tabor College women's basketball team is10-2 overall and 5-0 in the KCAC.

The new Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Salina will hold its kickoff service Jan. 19. The Vineyard is pastored by Kent Gaston, former pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Hillsboro.

Delores Dalke of Hillsboro was named 1991 Agent of the Year for Railroad Savings Bank. Dalke won the award based on obtaining the highest annuity deposits out of the 85 Railroad agents across the state.
