Hillsboro High School wrestlers headed to state competition in Hays include Jason Hamm, Kyle Adams, and Mitch Goossen.
Kim Kaufman of Hillsboro is among the top winners in Ford Motor Company's annual job skills competition involving 25,000 Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealership technicians across the nation. Kaufman outscored other technicians on a written exam to become a champion in Ford Customer Service Divisions' Comprehensive Training Program. His efforts earned him an all-expense paid, four-day, three-night Fantasy Cruise for two to Nassau plus a day at Walt Disney World.
Hillsboro High School boys' coach Darrel Knoll celebrated his 100th last Friday — 100th win that is. The Trojans defeated Sterling Friday night 65-56 giving Knoll a 100-33 record as a Trojan coach. Last Tuesday, Hillsboro was defeated by Collegiate 62-60 in OT. The Trojans are now 14-4.
The family of Helen Seibel invites the public to attend her 90th birthday celebration with an open house Sunday, March 6, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Hillsboro Senior Center. The family requests no gifts.
Voters in the USD 410 school district will have the opportunity to voice their opinions concerning a bond issue for a proposed new middle school at several public meetings before the issue is put before the voters on Tuesday, April 5.
Salem Hospital administrator Leo Miller announced his resignation last week. His last day will be March 11. Miller has accepted a position with Epic Health Care Management and will be moving to Ulysses.
