Jerry and Vi Klassen of Hillsboro announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Klassen, to Damian Ratzlaff, son of Glenn and Barb Ratzlaff of Hillsboro. A June 4 wedding is planned at Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.
Hillsboro High School will present the comedy "Cactus Flower" April 15-16 in the high school auditorium.
Max Terman of Hillsboro shot a 2-iron on #3 from 190 yards at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course Friday for a hole-in-one. Mark Suderman witnessed the shot which was made in cold weather with a 20 mph wind against the tee.
The state of Kansas Hall of Fame announces that Michael and Carolyn Kleiber of Hillsboro have been named the official Hall of Fame Sponsor for Hilslboro High School. The Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, a non-profit organization based in Abilene, is involved in a state-wide fund drive to build a 24,000 square foot Sports Hall of Fame and museum in the near future.
Tabor College has released the names of the residence hall assistants for the 1994-95 academic year. They include Joel Mathis and Tonya Fast of Hillsboro.
Jason W. Russell of Hillsboro has received a $500 Wilson Tripp Memorial Scholarship at Kansas State University.
Bob Hein, unopposed candidate, was elected to the city council for the second ward. Gerald Ollenburger, unopposed, was elected as the representative for the first ward. The USD #410 general obligation bonds to build a new middle school passed 487-168.
Workers of LaForge Construction of Parsons started Friday in the downtown area to upgrade the waterlines.
