Ron Thompson of Council Grove has been hired as an interim administrator for Salem Hospital. He is expected to hold the position for six to 12 months. He was a past administrator for a hospital in Council Grove.
Loren and Nolly Loewen of Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Clara Ann, born April 10 at Newton Medical Center. She weighed seven pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.
Hillsboro native Cynthia Fleming has returned to her position as vice president/cashier for Emprise Bank-Hillsboro. Fleming most recently worked for Emprise Bank-Hutchinson.
More than $1,420 was raised at a recent fund raiser by the Hillsboro Elementary School site council's Mexican supper.
The Hillsboro High School band, directed by Harold Willis, participated in the State Music Festival held April 13 at Lyons High School. The band was rewarded with a I (superior) rating for its performance of "Little English Suite" by Grundman and "Fantasia on Triumphant Hymn" by Custer.
Tabor College vice president for business and finance Kirby Fadenrecht has announced that the transitional move to an independent food service will begin May 1. By July 1, a private company will provide all institution-wide food services. Pioneer College Caterers, Inc., based in Nashville, Tenn., will be the new food services provider.
