Friendships that were founded more than 50 years ago between Hillsboro High School students play a part in the dedication of the Alfred Schroeder Field. Schroeder was killed during World War II. For the 50-year reunion of the class of 1941, John A. Wiebe submitted Schroeder's name to be considered as a name for the newly upgraded facilities.
After 16 years with the school district, elementary school principal Marilyn Jost submitted her resignation letter to the USD #410 school board.
Adam M. Kleiber of Hillsboro was awarded Kansas State University's Leadership Scholarship during ceremonies Feb. 11 at K-State. He is the son of Michael and Carolyn Kleiber of Hillsboro.
Bruce and Diedre Serene of Hillsboro announce the birth of their daughter, Callie Alexandra, born April 29 at Newton Medical Center. She has a brother, Gavin, 3, and a sister, Mieka, 2.
Craig Duerksen, son of Deanne Duerksen of Hillsboro, signed a letter of intent with Northwestern University Monday at Hutchinson.
Dan Suderman, 1991 graduate of Hillsboro High School, has been elected president of the KSU Rodeo Club and Team for the 1994-95 school year. Suderman is the son of Ron and Sharon Suderman of rural Hillsboro.
