Candidates for Hillsboro High School homecoming king and queen are Wendi Suderman, Missi Duerksen, Charity Friesen, Kathy Harder, Dara Wedel, Kyle Adams, Cameron Greenhaw, Eric Clark, Tim Hodge, and Jeff Kreutziger. The crowning will be held Thursday in the high school gym.

Asset Recovery Corporation's attorney reviewed the findings of the Hillsboro Planning Commission and questioned the legality of quite a few of them at the city council meeting Tuesday. In question is Asset's request for an amendment of its special use permit which would allow the company to install a furnace to smelt the lead from batteries in the recycling process.

USD 410 school board approved 7-0 a policy on the instructional program and agreed with the administrative team's recommendations for policy except one in which school officials requested a class size guidelines notation be left in. Numbers currently used as class size guidelines are below 20, K-second; below 22, third-fourth; below 25, fifth-sixth; and below 30, seventh-twelfth.
