Between 300 and 400 Hillsboro area youngsters participated in the third annual Trick or Treat Main Street last Friday. A record 31 business participated in the chamber-sponsored event which is in its third year.

The Hillsboro High School volleyball team left Salina with a 33-5 record and a fourth place finished in the state volleyball tournament.

Amy Klassen and Audrey Hett, both from Hillsboro, were recognized at Bethel College's Honors Convocation Oct. 4 for their academic achievements.

The dedication service of the campus Historic Mennonite Brethren Church was held Sunday, Oct. 24. The church turned 100 years on Aug. 8. The building served as the first Tabor classroom in 1908.

The Hillsboro Trojan football team finished the season with a loss to Marion last Thursday. The Trojans lost 26-6 and dropped their record to 3-6.

Lion Tim Hays of Arkansas City, Governor of Kansas District 17 KW Lions, visited the Hillsboro Lions Club Monday evening. The Lions Conquering Blindness banner patch was presented to the club for raising a minimum of $1,500 for Campaign Sight First.

LuElla Jost will celebrate her 80th birthday Nov. 8. Her family is encouraging relatives and friends to wish her a happy birthday with a card.
