Tabor College head librarian Bruce Entz attended the fall conference of the College and University Library Section of the Kansas Library Association in Lawrence recently.
Amy Klassen and Lance Hofer, both from Hillsboro, are peer mentors at Bethel College for the 1993-94 academic year. Peer mentors work with freshmen students in the Principles of Communication class.
A run sponsored by the HHS track team was held for Hillsboro Elementary School students to promote drug free living. Winners in the race were Layne Frick, Brandon Ratzlaff, Ashley Denison, Brandon Luna, Michael Bookless, Michael Hagen, April Funk, Sara Thiessen, and Heather Pankratz.
Students' over-night trips were discussed Monday night at the USD #410 Board of Education meeting. Instructor Dave Clark has requested that the concert choir participated in the Cavalcade of Music in May in Colorado Springs. The choir's request of the board is to fund the transportation which Superintendent Gordon Mohn estimated would be $4,000.
Mildor and Bernice Duerksen of Lehigh will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 28 in the Mennonite Church of Lehigh fellowship hall. Bernice Unrau and Mildor Duerksen were married on Sept. 8, 1943 in the Goessel Mennonite Church.
Ben and Lenora Goentzel of Tampa will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Nov. 21. At Central Heights Mennonite Church in Durham. Ben Goentzel and Lenora Unruh were married Nov. 7. 1943, in Friedenstahl Mennonite Church in rural Durham.
