The Hillsboro Historical Society and Museum Board met at Iron Kettle Restaurant Monday morning. Christmas Open House at the Schaeffler House was discussed. Dr. G. George Ens read the schedule of musical numbers presented at the Schaeffler House and the Historic Church Sunday, Dec. 11.
The winners of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce executive board elections were announced at the monthly luncheon last Tuesday. Those elected were Mike Meisinger, Central National Bank of Marion County, Hank Wiebe, Prudent Travel & Tours, Peni Ens, Odds 'N Ends, Andy Shewey, IDS Financial Services, and Myrna Hamm, Hillsboro State Bank.
Hillsboro girls easily defeated Sterling Friday 44-22 continuing their winning 4-0 record. Leading scorer for the Trojans was Lisa Myers with nine points, going 3-5 from 2-point range. Tesha Ratzlaff was 2-5 in 2's for eight points and Nicole Friesen was 4-5 in 2-point field goals for eight points.
Hillsboro boys lost by one against Sterling Friday 55-54. The Trojans are now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.
Tina King, head volleyball coach at Tabor College, has announced her resignation citing career and family responsibilities, according to athletic director Gary Myers. The highlight of King's five seasons spent as head coach was being named Coach of the Year following the 1993 season.
