The second floor of the new Hillsboro Middle School is expected to be started this week. The floor will be made of poured concrete. The first phase of the school is expected to be completed by Aug. 1, in time for classes in the fall. A demolition team is expected to tear down the old middle school starting June 1 and should be done by February, 1996.
Asset Recovery Corporation filed suit last Wednesday against the city of Hillsboro claiming denial of the corporation's request was illegal.
Ted and Frieda Flaming, Goessel, will be honored for their 50th wedding anniversary with an informal open house March 4, at the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall near Goessel.

The Hillsboro High School girls stomped Sterling Friday, defeating them 56-28. Ruth Harder led the Trojans' scoring with 12 points, Nicole Friesen followed with 10 and Tesha Ratzlaff with nine.

The Goessel Junior High girls dribbled past Canton-Galva,29-22, in the first round of league tourney at Trinity last week. Mandi Jordan and Kyra Reed led the Bluebird scoring each with eight points. Tina Schmidt followed with six points. LaRita Craft was the leading rebounder with nine. Jordan followed with five. Craft also led in steals with five.
