Velma Klassen of Hillsboro was the recipient of a service award from the National Weather Service. She is the official weather observer for Hillsboro and has served in this position for the past 15 years.
The Foundations of our Faith will be presented by Dave Breese of Hillsboro who will offer six Wednesday evenings teaching the Book of Romans at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church.
Matthew L. Vajnar is a 1992 spring graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor of science degree in agribusiness. He was a participant in the honors program and received academic recognition of cum laude. He is the son of Flo Rahn of rural Hillsboro and a 1988 graduate of Hillsboro High School.
Don Steffes of McPherson, recently announced Republican State Senatorial candidate for the 35th District, has named K.B. "Bud" Bruce of Hillsboro, veteran Kansas newspaper publisher for more than 40 years, as his district, chairman.
Ron Kuehl has accepted the position as vice president for advancement at Tabor College, according to President Lee Balzer. After more than a year's absence from Tabor, Kuehl will return to a position similar to the one he left, with significant added responsibilities.
