Amanda Johnson of Hillsboro and Lloyd Spencer of Hillsboro were married Saturday, May 16, in the Marion city park.
Jan Friesen of Hillsboro will head the financial aid office at Tabor College, according to an announcement made by Kirby Fadenrecht. Friesen began her duties June 15, replacing Karl Kliewer.
Georgina Johnson of Hillsboro will retire after completing 31 years of service to Tabor College. Twenty-five of those years have been in the library where she began working in 1967.
Dalina Winter was named the Kansas Holstein Princess for 1992. She was also awarded the Kansas Distinguished Junior Holstein Member Scholarship. She is the daughter of Warren and Jean Winter of rural Hillsboro and will be a sophomore at Hesston College in the fall.
The resolution of intent allowing the issuance of a $1.66 million bond issue for Salem Hospital, Inc., passed during Tuesday night's long Hillsboro City Council meeting but not without some hang-ups. About $1 million of the amount represents debt Salem already has. The other $600,000 represents revenue-generated activities.
