In a joint effort, USD #410 and Tabor College have given the track surface located on the Tabor campus a much needed face lift. The combined track project began in 1984 when USD #410 school officials approached Tabor administrators about the poor condition of the then asphalt track. The project of resurfacing the track was funded by Tabor and USD #410.

Ground-breaking ceremonies were held Saturday for Hillsboro's new Scout House to be used by both the area Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

The tornado that entered Marion County during the early morning hours last Tuesday damaged mainly one specific area within the county. Logan Township, the area north of Durham, suffered the wrath of the storm which mainly damaged outbuildings on eight farms.

Jac A. and Linda Funk celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner for family. Jac Funk and Linda Janzen were married June 3, 1932, in the garden of Dr. and Mrs. O.S. Klassen.

Doug and Debbie Dick of Hillsboro announce the birth of their son, Daniel Bradley, born June 21 at Salem Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds and 3 3/4 ounces and was 19 1/2 inches long. Grandparents are Gordon and Doris Dalke of Hillsboro and Ella Dick of Hillsboro.

Several volunteers are working on the Friesen Windmill shed near the Adobe House Museum. The windmill, which will be 30 feet high to the tip, will come out of the center of the mill shed.

After four years at Tabor College, Paul Schmutterer has resigned from his teaching and coaching duties to return to Sioux Falls, S.D.
