Tabor College has modified three degree programs for the 1992-93 term, adjusting the current curriculum to the changing needs of the 1990s. The physical education major has been expanded with a new emphasis on sports management. The business program now includes two new concentrations.
There will be two county races for the voters of Marion County to decide. Two local positions are on the Aug. 4 primary ballot. County commissioner Linda Peterson will be facing fellow Democrat Daniel Holub in the primary. The winner of the Democratic race will face Wayne Thies. The other county race will be for the Marion County treasurer position. Incumbent Verden Harms, Republican, is being challenged by Sheryl Pankratz, also a Republican.
Salem Hospital board members approved the purchase of new laproscopic equipment in order to upgrade the hospital's surgery procedures. The bill for the equipment is $29,782.
The Sell family reunion celebrated the 100th anniversary of the David Sell family immigrating to Lehigh in 1892. The Sells were Germans who immigrated from Russia.
