During Hillsboro City Council's meeting, a proclamation was signed to celebrate Arbor Day Friday, March 31.

Betty Bernhardt returned home to Hillsboro last week after spending a month with her son, Ken Bernhardt, in St. Petersburg, Fla. Highlights included viewing the "Treasures of the Czars" exhibition, celebrating with Tampa Bay for finally getting a major league baseball team, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and attending the 20th annual St. Petersburg International Folk Fair.
