Norman and Dot Ensz of Hillsboro will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church in the fellowship hall. Hosts for the event will be their children and families: Randy, Lisa and Alicia Ensz of Denton, Texas, and Joni, Terry and Stephanie Ens of Wichita. Norman Ensz and Dorothy Janzen were married Sept. 1, 1952, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church parsonage in Hillsboro by the Rev. V.J. Boehringer.
Esther Lindteigen spent the past weekend with the Dean Lindteigen family in Douglass. Those joining them on Sunday for service in the United Methodist Church and for dinner in an Augusta restaurant for their mother's birthday were: Kenneth and Deanna Lindteigen of Canton, Mrs. Jeff Lindteigen, Megan and Chris of McPherson, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Lindteigen and Whitney of Mulvane. On her way home on Monday, Esther visited with Gail and Russ Toews and family near Potwin and had dinner with them.
Nathan Smith, Shield of Shelter Insurance agent from Marion, presented a check of $878 to Tabor College. The Shield of Shelter Insurance Company donates $10,500 to each of the District 10 of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). This money is then distributed to the member institutions to help defray the expense of post-season play.
Clinton and Josephine Frick of Durham will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house reception from 2 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 30 at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Clinton Frick and Josephine Steckel were married Aug. 30, 1942.
