Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair director Deena Hawkins is reporting increased sales and increased attendance at the annual fair. Sales are at $469,826. The crowd estimate is 40,000.

The 50th wedding anniversary of Leon and Ruby Suderman will be celebrated Oct. 4 with an open house held in the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.

More than 100 Hillsboro High School students attended the FFA Chapter's September monthly meeting. Officers include Roxanne Goossen, president; Kevin Winter, vice president; Michelle Galle, secretary; Ryan Peters, treasurer; Jeremy Johnson, reporter; Jeremy Duerksen, sentinel; and C.J. Dawes, student adviser.

The Tabor football team broke a 10-year losing streak to Bethel College Saturday night by defeating the Threshers 17-14 in North Newton.

The Moundridge Wildcats dampened Hillsboro's bid for a Mid-Kansas League title last Friday night with a 10-2 victory over the Trojans.

With two more victories, the Hillsboro High School volleyball team has quietly run their record to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the league.

Hillsboro police officers are warning motorists that it is illegal to cross double yellow lines to make a turn from one side of the street to park on the other side or to back up a car after being parked in one direction to turn to go the other direction.
