Hillsboro High School seniors Tonya Fast and Darrin Hiebert were crowned Homecoming royalty at the coronation ceremony. The high school football team defeated Remington 46-6.

There are 275 taxable partials not platted in the city limits of Hillsboro. Problems occur when deeds are transferred and recorded in metes and bounds, not lots and blocks like they should be.

Esther Loewen Vogt of Hillsboro has been selected as winner of the Donald Coffin Memorial Book Awarded-Kansas Authors Club-1992 for her recently released novel, The Enchanted Prairie.

The New Life Development Center, which opened Oct. 1 at Salem Hospital, will offer psychiatric help specifically for older patients. The 12-bed unit offers short-stay inpatient psychiatric help for people 60 years old and older. Linda Harris is the director of the program.

The Tabor drama department's fall production, The Good Doctor, will mark the kick-off of Tabor College's Homecoming.

Carmen Hofer of Hillsboro has been named to the 1992-93 Bethel College Concert Choir. Lance Hofer of Hillsboro has been named to the 1992-93 Bethel College Chapel Choir.

Tabor College has met the deadline set by the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla., for receiving a $75,000 challenge grant to complete funding for the new Campus Recreation Center.

The Hillsboro High School volleyball team placed second in the Canton-Galva Tournament Saturday. Taryn Ratzlaff and Phyllis Nickel were selected to the all-tournament team. Angie Peters was selected to the all-tourney second team.
