Tabor College Library received a $1,000 grant from the Kansas Library Network Board designated for the purchase of materials dealing with economic development. Bruce Entz, head librarian of the library, said that he has requisitioned suggestions from the head of the college's business/economics department, seeking ways that he can best use the funds to suit their needs.

According to head coach Kerry Denison, the Tabor football team never showed up Saturday to play Friends University, that is, in a non-literal sense. Denison's comments came after Tabor was shutout 58-0 by the Falcons.

The Hillsboro City Council gave the go-ahead Tuesday night to proceed with a program to improve the sewer lines, primarily in the downtown business district. Al Reisss of Reiss and Goodness Engineers in Wichita explained the state revolving fund for server improvements which is actually a loan over a 2-year period. Reiss estimated the project cost at $383,000.

Greyhound racing paid off for Parkside Homes in Hillsboro when it received $15,000 and a special plaque from Wichita Greyhound Charities as part of the charitable organization's third annual grants to Kansas non-profit organizations.
