Salem Home has gone to the dogs. Well, actually just one dog named Fisher. Fisher, a two and a half-year-old Golden Retriever, is a companion dog provided to Salem Home by the non-profit organization, Kansas Specialty Dog Services in Washington, Kansas. Fisher will slowly work his way into the hearts of the Salem residents, and in about two months be a permanent resident there until he retires.
Brent Unruh, son of Bob and Priscilla Unruh, Durham, has been chosen by the New York Jets football team for a summer internship as athletic trainer during their training camp in New York City.
Gov. Bill Graves has announced the formation of the Governor's Tax Equity Task Force. Over the next six months, this panel will carefully and thoroughly examine the Kansas tax structure and provide recommendations to the 1996 Kansas Legislature. Local resident Carol Wiebe is a member of the governor's task force.
