Just months after Hillsboro lost its only men's clothing store, Dan Heinze decided to fill the gap. July 1 was the grand opening of Heinze's Clothiers, another men's store, located in the former Edmund's store in downtown Hillsboro. Heinze is also the owner of their store in Newton.
Doug Batlzer prefers to give rather than to receive. But last week he really didn't have a choice. Baltzer, who farms southwest of Lehigh, was diagnosed with a sever case of mononucleosis and was confined to the hospital. As he lay in the hospital bed, drained of energy, a 190-acre wheat crop waited impatiently to be harvested. That's when friends from the community "combined" their efforts so to speak and moved in to harvest Baltzer's fields. "Although it's hard to be on the receiving end," Baltzer said, "I'm sure glad others felt the need to help."
