Tabor College was the recipient of $3,500 from the Cymaron Foundation of New York City on Feb. 8. The funds have been given without restriction and will be directed to the annual fund for student scholarships.

The Hillsboro High School boys' basketball team matched up against the number one ranked team in 2A Friday night. When it was all over and done with, Moundridge proved why they were number one. The Wildcats defeated Hillsboro 68-49.

Rebecca Wichert proved, once again, why she is number nine in the nation (NAIA Division II) in individual scoring and number 13 in the nation in individual field goal percentage. Wichert, averaging 22.41 points per game and shooting 57 percent from the field, scored 25 points and shot 60 percent from the field Saturday to lead the Tabor women's varsity team over McPherson College, 88-66.

As one of her last requirements before graduating, Tabor College senior Kristin Kliewer will present her senior recital on oboe Feb. 28.

Hillsboro Grand Oaks Apartment representatives Arnold and Annabell Bliss, along with board member Larry Bartel, presented the city with a check during Tuesday night's meeting. Representing their payment in lieu of taxes, the city was given a check for $2,756.18.

Four Hillsboro students will be participating in a countywide spelling bee Feb. 24. Diana Koslowsky and Andrew Dies came in first and second in the middle school spelling bee, and Erin Bartel and Jared Kuehl placed first and second in the elementary school spelling bee
