The new Hillsboro Middle School opened its doors to students for the first time Monday morning as students file in for the first day of school.

Everyone was a winner at the Relay for Life Friday at the Tabor College track. The event was a benefit for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. Approximately fifteen teams with ten members each raised over $9,000, most of which will stay in Marion County.

Gayla Soyez, head coach of Tabor women's basketball, recently returned from Belgium where she led the 13- girl U.S.A. All-Star team in an internationally-sponsored basketball tournament at Antwerp, Belgium.

Teachers joining the staff at USD 410 this fall will be Tim Beougher (technology education), Keith Temaat (band), Carolyn Long (high school math), Dustin McEwen (high school math), Brian Kennell (history), and Diedre Serene (school nurse).
