Parkside Homes' $6 million construction project will begin next month. The facility, to include 60 congregate 1-2-3 bedroom apartments and 14 duplex buildings, will be built southeast of the current Parkside Homes. Parkside Homes, Inc., building committee members may have the construction project underway by September.

The golden wedding anniversary of Kermit and Ruth Ratzlaff was the occasion for a reception Aug. 13 hosted by their children and grandchildren at the Hillsboro Senior Center and for a family reunion.

An updated Marion County Business and Professional Directory will be published and inserted in county newspapers providing grant funding from the state is secured.

Pete Koslowsky and Leona Ratzlaff were married in the presence of their children and grandchildren on Sunday, Aug. 7, in the chapel of Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church. Officiating at the double-ring ceremony were pastors Dennis Fast and Tim Sullivan.

The Hillsboro Planning Commission met Tuesday night during a special meeting to consider a motion to go into executive session to discuss the process of reaching a decision on the quasi judicial amendment to the special use permit of Asset Recovery Corp. The special use permit would allow the plant to install a furnace to smelt lead.

Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Jost of Corvallis, Ore., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pete H. Klassen for a cousin reunion. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. John F. Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Menno Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Titus Jost, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Jost, Victor Jost, Dan Penner, Louise Friesen and Hulda Boese.
