Dozens of people arrived to offer their input after a cow escaped from Hillsboro Lockers and ended up in one of the ponds at the Adobe House Museum. After escaping the lockers, the cow was dodging vehicles on D Street before it was spooked and dived into the pond. After approximately two hours in the pond, the cow was pulled out with a wrecker and returned to Hillsboro Lockers.
The owners of a local restaurant have decided to move on to other projects and have opted to close their doors after four years of serving Hillsboro and customers far and wide. Owen and Della Meier of Durham, owners and operators of the Olde Towne Restaurant, decided to close the doors Dec. 28.
Byron And Wendy McCarty of Hillsboro announce the birth of their son, Mason Byron Paul McCarty, born Dec. 30, 1991. He weighted 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 inches long. He has a sister, Megan, 3.
Tabor College men's basketball team is 2-9 overall after losing two games in the Mennonite Classic in Bluffton, Ohio, Jan. 3 and 4. They are 2-1 in the KCAC.
Christmas guests of Ed and Vera Harder were their children and grandchildren.
