Six piano students of Mr. Lonn Richards presented a recital April 1 in her home. Participating were Debbie Penner, Danielle Schmidt, Kathy Wiebe, Dawn Lohrenz, Beverly Just, and Grace Seibel.
Carl Metzger of Halstead was hired for the position of Hillsboro city administrator. He begins his new duties in May after wrapping his two-year stint as city administrator in Halstead.
Harold Wiebe won the mayoral contest over Henry Hiebert. Councilmen elected were Eldon Brandt and Pete Klassen. Board of education members elected were Marlin Janzen Lorin Neufeld, Deena Hawkins and Marvin Ratzlaff.
