Sharon Hiebert, daughter of Mrs. H.W. Rider, and Ronald Suderman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Suderman, all of Hillsboro, exchanged marriage vows April 28 at Hillsboro First Mennonite Church.
Barbara Pankratz and Diane Deckert each received a $500 scholarship to the college of their choice from the State of Kansas. They were rewarded the scholarships based on their ACT scores. Pankratz is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pankratz and Deckert is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Algy Deckert.
Art Balzer retired from coaching after 23 years in the Hillsboro High School system. During his tenure he coached basketball, football and track in both head coaching and assistant coaching assignments. He will continue as guidance counselor at HHS.
Mr. and Mrs. A.S. Klassen of Lehigh announce the engagement of their daughter, Shirley Lois, to Doug Baltzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jona Baltzer of Moundridge. Both are graduates of Hillsboro High School. She is a student at Tabor College. He is employed at Hesston Corporation.
Norton Goertz, Hillsboro businessman and artist, will exhibit his watercolors and block prints at the Wichita Art and Book Fair May 13 and 14.
