Paul Rundstrom, 40, well-known insurance and real estate businessman in Hillsboro, died Tuesday following a plane crash which occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Severely burned in the crash were Blaine Briggs of Marion and Dennis Klassen of rural Marion. Rundstrom was at the controls of the single-engine Beech Bonanza airplane. The trio, apparently not injured seriously by the crash, were able to crawl from the flaming wreckage. However, all were in flames.

Rundstrom is survived by his wife, Naomi; son Eric Paul, five weeks old; daughter, Jill, 7; brothers, Bernard of Canton, Danny of Twisp, Washington, sisters Anna Marie Larson, Ruth Scott and Irma Goerzen, all of Washington.

Friday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Bartel were Mr. and Mrs. Owen Merle Dick of Alta Lama, Calif., and Anna Kaiser.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Groening and Mr. and Mrs. John Ewert have returned from a two-week vacation which they spent in Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Friesen of Durham announce the birth of Carissa Ann on June 19 at Bethel Hospital in Newton. She has a sister, Rebecca, 3.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Pawloski of Abilene announce the arrival of their daughter, Christine Marie, born June 10.

Terry Pankratz of rural Hillsboro returned last week from nearly a week's stay in Europe. Pankratz won the trip through a subscription-selling contest sponsored by a Kansas farm magazine.

Rebecca Wiebe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Wiebe of Hillsboro, and Doug Dick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dick of Hillsboro, have been accepted at Tabor college for the 1978-79 school year.

Three Hillsboro High School seniors, Kay Bartel, Kay Ediger and Vivian Flaming, represented Hillsboro at the 36th annual Sunflower Girls State last week on the University of Kansas campus.
