Lisa Braun, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Braun of Hillsboro, placed third in high jump in Bantam League at the State AAU Meet in Manhattan Saturday. Also competing were Marlene Funk and Angie Helmer.

A one-car accident on U.S. 56 near Marion injured three Hillsboro girls. The vehicle, a 1972 Ford, was westbound when it went into a north ditch, striking a concrete culvert. The girls, Linda Funk, 16, Annette Funk, 15, and Wendy Stevens, 14, were taken by county ambulance to St. Luke Hospital in Marion. Annette suffered a broken leg and a cut on her face. Wendy suffered a broken leg, a broken collar bone, and bruises. Linda and Annette are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Funk of Hillsboro, and Wendy is the daughter of Mrs. Betty Klein of Hillsboro.
Susan Flaming, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Flaming of Hillsboro, Karen Hiebert, daughter of Mrs. Edna Rider of Hillsboro, and Debbie Friesen daughter of Mrs. Joan Friesen of Hillsboro recently graduated from Brown Mackie College in Salina. Susan completed the Fashion Merchandising Program. Karen and Debbie completed the General Secretarial Program.
