Airman Barry Lynn Harms is spending his 30-day leave with Mr. and Mrs. Emice Hein and Eugene and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Hein and family in Durham He will be transferred to Kline Mount, Germany.

July 4th guests of Mr. and Mrs. Menno Harder were Mr. and Mrs. Menno Regier of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Jon Regier, students at Kansas University in Lawrence; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lange and Wendy; and Mr. and Mrs. Andy Friesen, Christy and Shelly.

Landscaping will begin this fall at the USD 410 junior and senior high complex on East Grand following action taken by the board of education Monday night. The board approved the first of two plans at a cost of $754 to get the project rolling.

Wind which stormed through the area Thursday overturned a mobile home and car in north Lehigh. Whether the wind was a tornado has not been determined. Other destruction in the town included broken windows, split tree branches and damaged sheds.

Student fees for Hillsboro High School enrollees will be the subject of discussion and study by USD 410 Board of Education at future meetings. A preliminary discussion was held Monday night but no decisions were made. High school principal James Clark suggested including the $25 fee for summertime driver education classes on the fee schedule. Clerk of the board Marilyn Schmidt suggested eliminating the $1.50 home economics fee and reducing the athletic towel fee from $3 to $2.
