Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hagen announce the arrival of their son, Brice Allen, born Aug. 7. They have a daughter, Mindy, 3. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Hagen and Mr. and Mrs. Fred David.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Wright of Hillsboro announce the arrival of their son, Benjamin Caleb, born Aug. 7. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Don Wright Sr., Locus Grove, Okla., and Mrs. Dorothy Schmidt of Hillsboro.
Deena Hawkins of Hillsboro was the winner of a gold-plated putter donated by Irv Schroeder County Motors for the women's Golf Tournament July 20. The drive closest to the pin on hole No. 6 won the putter.
Mrs. Bruce Patton attended the annual Art Teachers' Seminar in Topeka Aug 2 - 6. The class instructor was Mrs. Jan Burnett, Master Teacher and immediate past president of the National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters.
A new face at the top of the USD 410 structure will greet students, teachers and other administrators as they return to the classroom Aug. 25 for their first day of classes. Dr. Robert C. Brown brings a wealth of experience to the superintendency which he assumed Aug. 1. He has worked as a farmer, United States Air Force pilot, teacher, and administrator before coming to Hillsboro.
Scott David Harder, son of the Keith Harders of Elkhardt, Ind., is spending this week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Prieb and Mr. and Mrs. Menno Harder.
House guests at the Jac Funk home the past week were Mrs. Funk's sister, Mrs. Allen Bartel and Mr. Bartel of Shafter, Calif., and their children Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wiebe, Cameron and Bret who recently returned from Zaire.
