The Farmers Home Administration has approved a loan of $1,162,000 and a grant of $398,000 for rural Water District No. 4, according to a telephone report from Sen. Bob Dole's office to the Star-Journal late Tuesday. Loan terms were given as 40 years at 5 percent.
Marolyn Ann Ollenburger and Merle Dean Schlehuber exchanged marriage vows at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dean Ollenburger and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Schlehuber, all of Hillsboro.
Forty-six young mothers gathered in the bank community room Tuesday evening to hear Viola Wiebe speak on "Me as a Home Cure Doctor." The mothers are part of a new Hillsboro organization, the Young Mothers' Club, which now has three chapters meeting twice monthly.
New USD 410 teachers include Cindy Blomquist, home economics; Brenda Dinsmore, physical education; James Hein, auto mechanics; Eric Juderborg, English, drama, and speech; Kent Latimer, vocal music; Janet Metzger, 6th grade; and Kelly Unruh, 6th grade.
