Two Florence juveniles are being held in Marion County Jail pending the filing of formal charges in the deaths of two 74-year-old Florence residents Monday night. The two juveniles were apprehended in Emporia driving the car of one of the deceased. The deceased are Daniel Conrad Kent, 74, and Verneva Kent, 74, of Florence. The double murder was allegedly committed with a small caliber rifle.

Sunday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Frantz and sons were Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Frantz and Troy, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Frantz and family of Wichita, Ida Frantz and Martha Frantz. The occasion was to celebrate the birthday of Ida Frantz.

Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Janzen, Mark and Maura were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Lockett, Jennene and Darren and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Suderman.

Hillsboro High School speech students Tammi Becker, Polly Freach, Larry Funk, Glen Guhr, Annie Janzen, Jakie Janzen, Daryl Kliewer, Grace Seibel and Debbie Thurston will attend the Kansas State High School Activities Association Speech and Drama Clinic Jan. 22 at Wichita State University. Their drama coach is Lon Dormer.

Open house of a new apartment complex is slated Sunday at 204 S. Jefferson, the location of College High Apartments. The four-plex was developed by Roger Hofer and Frank Wiens of Hillsboro with Harvey Peters Construction completing the general contract.
