Lonn Richards, director of the Tabor College concert band, has announced the band's spring concert tour to communities and high schools in Kansas and Oklahoma from Feb. 26 through 28. Hillsboro area students who are members of the band include Joetta Klassen, Tammy Lohrenz, Colleen Elias, Anita Ulsh, Renay Kessler, Terry Friesen, Walt Jost and Lola Suderman.

Robert A. Arnold, 306 S. Kennedy, officially declared himself this week a write-in candidate for Mayor of Hillsboro. Arnold is general manager of Tip Top Credit Union. He has been active in the Democratic party for a number of years. There are no other candidates for the mayoral position.
