Jack Heuback, 45-year-old city administrator at Goodland, was hired as the third city administrator for Hillsboro at a special meeting of the city council Friday night. He will begin work May 14.

Literary May baskets filled a table and bulletin board in Jerry Jones' sophomore English class room Tuesday. The baskets, made by the students, had some form of literary work attached, most written by the students themselves.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson announce the engagement of their daughter Geneva to Darrel Just, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Just of Hillsboro. Both are 1975 graduates of Hillsboro High School. The wedding will be Sept. 8.

Deran and Sharon Siebert of rural Hillsboro announce the birth of a daughter, Jennifer Lyne, born April 9 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton. She joins a brother, Thomas Edward, and a sister, Shawna Lee.

Hillsboro High School state FFA winners in the agricultural mechanical contest are Kendall Unrau, Steve Unruh, and Max Heinrichs. They will represent Kansas in the national competition in November.

Mrs. Wes Pankratz accompanied her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Hiebert, of Lehigh to Bennett, Colo., from Saturday through Tuesday visiting the Dean Pankratz family. They got acquainted with their new granddaughter, Diana.

Mrs. Gary Duerksen is on a business trip for Johns Manville in McPherson to Denver. She is spending time with her sister Karen Pankratz.

The Cub Scout Pinewood Derby winners were Mike Klassen, first; Matthew Dalke, second; and Layne Wiebe, third.
