Dr. Robert C. Brown, superintendent of USD 410, informed the board of education of some temporary personnel changes within the elementary system in a letter dated Monday. Brown informed the board that Bonnie Friesen has taken leave of absence from sixth grade duties at Durham attendance center. Janice Goertz has been hired on a temporary basis.

Members of the Friendship Club were guests of Mrs. Herbert Wiebe Oct. 10 for their meeting. Nine members answered roll call. Mrs. Carrie Groening and Mrs. Esther Lindteigen were guests. The afternoon was spent doing individual hand work.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Klassen returned Wednesday from visiting their children Gerald and Amy Klassen in Pueblo, Colo., and James and Harriet and family in Lakewood, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman D. Friesen celebrated their 45th anniversary Saturday with a dinner at Iron Kettle Restaurant. Hosting the event were their daughters, Caryl (Mrs. John) Wiebe and Betty (Mrs. Bob) Seibel.

Hillsboro High School volleyball team will play at Herington Saturday at the sub-state volleyball tournament. The Trojans finished regular season play at 3-9.

For the first time ever, Tabor comes into the annual homecoming game with a perfect KCAC record. Tabor has won five conference games for the first time, assuring themselves of a winning record in the KCAC. The five wins is also the longest winning streak in Tabor football history.

Marlin Bartel, rural Hillsboro, has joined the staff of Tip Top Credit Union as agricultural representative, according to Bob Arnold, general manager. Bartel, the son of the Johnnie Bartels, is a Hillsboro High School graduate. He attended Tabor College for two years and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in animal science and industry in 1974.
