Ordination services for David Clark of Hillsboro and Allen Ewert of Wichita will be Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

Hillsboro Mayor Harold J. Wiebe was appointed representative to the South Central Kansas Economic District Development board at the Monday meeting of Marion County Commissioners at the Marion County Courthouse. Wiebe replaces the late Franklin Harms as one of two Marion County representatives on the board.

Mr. and Mrs. Ferd S. Goertzen of Hillsboro and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Witzke of Newton hosted a Jacob H. Goertzen family reunion Oct. 22 in the Goessel Grade School.

Ruthanne Loewen, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Henry Loewen, of rural Marion is a member of the women's tennis team at Tabor College.

Marcia Plett, rural Lehigh, placed in her division of the Kansas Music Teachers' Association District VI piano auditions Oct. 21 at Hesston College. She is a senior at Hillsboro High School.

Hillsboro High School girls' volleyball team finished its season Saturday afternoon. The Trojans lost to Silver Lake 15-12, 15-13, and 15-10, ending their season 6-4.

Saturday night's Tabor College-Bethel College football game was billed as the "Mennonite Super Bowl," and it provided all the excitement promised. The Bluejays nipped the Threshers 31-27 in the highest scoring game that Tabor has been in this year. Tabor had 211 yards rushing and 163 yards passing.

Hillsboro High School state tennis qualifiers are Denise Feil, Krista Heinrichs, and Lynn Isaac. Feil will participate in singles while Pankratz and Isaac will participate in doubles
