Weekend guests of Esther Vogt were her children, Ranney Vogt, Emporia, and Naomi (Mrs. Lee) Eitzen and Jennifer, Fairview, Okla. Mr. and Mrs. Wes Eitzen, Fairview, and Phil Eitzen and Tamara Hubbard, Tabor College students, joined them for dinner.
Carol Ollenburger, Hannah Ollenburger, and Elma Klein spent a couple of days last week visiting with Nannie Zimmerman and the Raymond Zimmermans at Weaubleau, Mo.
The question of conducting another arts and crafts fair in Hillsboro will be tackled by the new officers and advisory council of the Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Association. The chance to reconsider the previous board's decision to disband the fair was granted at the association's annual meeting Oct. 29 in the city building. The 1978-79 board made the decision to quit the project just prior to the 11th annual Arts and Crafts Fair in September.
Kim Jost, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake K. Jost of Hillsboro, recently graduated from Continental Airlines' pilot training in Los Angeles. He has been assigned to Denver as a Second Officer flying Boeing 727's. Kim is a 1971 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a graduate of Tabor College.
David Elias accepted a $20 cash award for Hillsboro at the annual Pride Day Oct. 27 in Wichita. The award, presented by Gov. John Carlin, represented third place in the Youth Involvement Division of cities with a population of 2,001 to 5,000.
Hillsboro is making up for a long, dry spell with 4.30 inches of rain which fell Monday and Tuesday. October's rainfall is 6.16 so far.
Lynn Isaac, the Hillsboro High School tennis team's only entry in the state tennis tournament at Lindsborg, came up empty handed as she was eliminated in the second round.
