Mrs. Henry B. Quiring, Henderson, Neb., announces the engagement of her daughter, Carol Friesen, to Dwight Dirks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tobias Dirks Sr. of Durham. Carol is a graduate of the University of Nebraska and is employed at Milder Nursing Home in Lincoln. Dwight is a graduate of Tabor College and is employed by Grace Children's Home in Henderson.

The Kansas FFA State Agricultural Mechanics team ranked 16th in a recent contest in Kansas City, Mo. Members of the Hillsboro team which represented the state included Kendall Unrau, Steve Unruh, Max Heinrichs, and adviser Truman Diener. Unruh and Unrau received gold medals and Heinrichs received a bronze medal.

The Wesley Seibels will celebrate their 25th anniversary with an open house Nov. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at First National Bank Community Room. The event will be hosted by their children, Tom and Rhonda Donahue, Brandon and Debbie Seibel, and John Seibel.

Hillsboro High School drama department will present "The Mouse that Roared" Nov. 16 and 17 in the high school auditorium. Leads in the play include Carol Wiebe, Countess Mountjoy; Michell Thiessen, Duchess Gloriana; Lonnie Bartel, U.S. president; Jeff Stotts, General Snippet; and Glen Guhr, Tully Bascom.
