Two doctors have stated their intention of setting up a medical practice in Hillsboro. That official word came from Loren Funk, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Doctor Recruitment Committee, during his report to the chamber Tuesday noon.
Darla Klassen, MD, and Rich Klassen, MD, said in a letter to the community, "We look forward to settling in Hillsboro and would like to invest our lives there, both as professionals and lay people who work to boost the community."
Shirley Clark and Becky Carlson led the Tabor College women's basketball team to a 60-45 KCAC victory over Kansas Wesleyan, Dec. 5.
Delores Dalke, owner of The Real Estate Center, was elected president of the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce for 1980 at the Thursday morning meeting of the Board of Directors.
The administrative committee of Tabor College agreed at their Dec. 4 meeting that the entire Center for Mennonite Brethren Studies Program should be included in the regular operating budget of the college. At the present time, Wesley Prieb, director of the center, carries the responsibility for raising operational funds.
Prieb said it is his hope that a heritage center on the Tabor campus will become a reality in the near future. "A place is needed where students, faculty and visitors can learn about the MB vision. A center, not just one over-crowded room, is needed to make such learning possible," he explained.
