"As the home goes, so goes the nation," believes 1978 Merit Mother of Kansas Helen Franz. Mrs. Franz was selected not only for her beliefs on motherhood, but also for her ability to put those beliefs into practice. Mrs. Franz will be honored later this spring by the American Mothers Committee. Her sponsoring organizations were the Tabor Women's Fellowship and the Mentor Study Club.

Dennis and Connie Fast of Fresno, Calif., announce the birth of a son, Jonathan Michael, born March 14 in Fresno. He has a sister, Tonya Renae, 2. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Fast of Fairview, Okla. and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Klassen of Clovis, Calif.

Dan Thiessen of Bakersfield, Calif., has been appointed head football and baseball coach at Tabor College for the 1978-790 school year. Thiessen, a physical education graduate of Tabor in 1969, has taught and coached in California since that time.

KISS rallied from behind to defeat the Bulls 50-44 and claim the post-season tournament in city league basketball play. Members of the team include Mitch Mezzulo, Chris Miller, Tim Wasemiller, John Warkentin, Terry Hagen, Roger Hagen, Allen Hagen, Randy Hagen, and Gary Wohlgemuth. Wasemiller was leading scorer for the team with 18 points.

In preparation for Monday night's visit by the North Central Association accreditation evaluation team, the NCA self-study steering committee prepared a 127-page self-study evaluating Hillsboro High School. It is a compilation of students, patrons, faculty, and administration of USD 410 schools.
