Mr. and Mrs. Eddison Schmidt returned April 4 from a 10-day stay with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Jay D. Schmidt, Rachel and Jason in Canton, Ohio. Jay is the pastor of the United Church of Christ in Canton.

Dr. Allen R. Grunau, present director of development at Tabor College, has been appointed director of institutional advancement and will assume his new administrative post July 1, according to Dr. Roy Just, president.

Two resignations affecting Hillsboro High School as well as Durham and junior high libraries were accepted at the Monday night meeting of USD 410 Board of Education. L. Duane Mills resigned from his position as auto mechanics and vocational education instructor at HHS. Florence Schadt resigned from Durham and junior high library positions.

Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John J. Bartel were Mr. and Mrs. Oren Lee Bartel of El Dorado and Anna Kaiser. Mrs. Kaiser returned Saturday after spending four months in Mesa, Ariz., with her son, Gary, and family.

Patricia Bartel was named Mental Health Association Campaign Chairman for Hillsboro. As campaign chairman, Patricia Bartel will organize Bellringer volunteers to go house-to-house during May, Mental Health Month.

Monday supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Wiens was Mrs. Esther Lindteigen. Mr. and Mrs. R. Dirksen of Moundridge were evening callers.

The Hillsboro girls, led by triple winner Ronda Suderman, won first place in the five-team Marion track meet Tuesday. The boys scored 11 points and finished fifth.
