Despite the fact that his Trojans came away with a surprising 62-56 victory over Peabody, Hillsboro coach Jerry Jones was an unhappy man at the conclusion of the game. It was a ragged contest that saw Hillsboro take charge in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 19-14. "There must be something about the Hillsboro water that impairs hearing," said Jerry Jones. "I told our kids time and time again that when we go into the delay game, we are not to foul. What did we do but foul. Maybe that's a reflection on my coaching, but it sounds like a hearing problem."
Approximately 300 farmers attended a rally at the fairgrounds in Hillsboro Dec. 30. Before the rally, farmers paraded in downtown Hillsboro with approximately 38 tractors and several other pieces of farm equipment. At the rally farmers heard supportive talk for the American Agriculture Movement strike which began Dec. 14.
