The 1978 Kansas wheat crop is forecast at 324.4 million bushels, down 6 percent from last year's 344.9 million bushes, according to the Kansas Crop and Livestock Reporting Service.
Winners in the Tabor College alumni golf tournament Saturday were Gary Wiens, Max Terman, Stan Utting, all of Hillsboro, and Bob Arnold of McPherson. Utting won medalist honors with 6 over par 76.
Denise Medley of Durham was an individual winner of the judging contest conducted with the Kansas Junior Polled Hereford Association Preview Show May 13 in Abilene.
Sheryl Dirks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dirks of Hillsboro, and James Woelk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Woelk of Hillsboro will graduate from St. Francis School Nursing May 26.
Layne Reusser, 1978 senior at Hillsboro High School, was among the recipients of the Outstanding Student Awards at Bethel College. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Reusser of rural Hillsboro.
Helen Loewen Wohlgemuth, daughter of Mrs. Mary Loewen of Hillsboro, received her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine on May 22 in Lawrence.
Russell Calcote, minister at Solomon for the past three years, has been assigned to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
