Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne E. Buchholz of Hillsboro will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary June 5 with an open house and short program at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro. They were married June 1, 1949, in WaKeeney and have lived in the Hillsboro area for 14 years.
Salem Hospital hosted the arrival of four babies last week, a baby boom for Hillsboro. The babies and their parents are Todd Allen, son of Allen and Vickie Regehr of Hillsboro; Heidi Joy, daughter of Franklin and Colleen Loyles of Cedar Point; Michael Alvin, son of Lawrence and Doneta Kirschenmann of Durham, and Suzanne Marie, daughter of Alvin and Arlene Hett of Hillsboro.
A new major in contemporary church ministries has been added in the humanities division at Tabor College, effective in the fall of 1977, according to Dr. John E. Toews, chairman of the division, and Dr. Larry Feil, academic dean of the college.
Two Hillsboro women are beginning their residencies in medicine July 1. Darla Reimer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Reimer, will begin hers in family practice at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Denise Hendrickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, will work in pediatrics at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Both are graduates of the University of Kansas Medical School, Tabor College, and Hillsboro High School.
