Rex and Marion Regier were honored with a miscellaneous baby shower in the home of Gary and Janet Duerksen in Lehigh. Guests were Troy and Cheri Shrum, Glenn and Donna Thiessen, Merle and Cora Friesen, Randall and Delia Duerksen, Don and Connie Norton, Clyde and Sharon Schroeder, and Kurt and Clara Frick.
Dr. Del Reimer, director of physical education and athletics at Tabor College, has announced the appointment of Jana Clark of Hillsboro and Don Brubacher of Hesston as full-time faculty in the department of physical education for the 1977-78 school year.
The first load of wheat rolled into the Cooperative Grain and Supply in Hillsboro with a test of 61 and with 14.30 moisture. The statistics looked good for this time of year, considering the amount of rain the area has had, according to Co-op personnel. Jake Friesen was the farmer bringing in the wheat.
Kerry Groening, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren J. Groening of Hillsboro, has been awarded an academic scholarship to Bethel College. Groening graduated this spring from Hillsboro High School and is entering Bethel as a freshman.
A bridal shower was held recently at the Marvin Bernhardt home in Canada in honor of Barbara McCarty, bride-to-be of Steve Hein of Hillsboro. Hostesses were Mrs. Marvin Bernhardt, Mrs. Sue Bernhardt and Jeanne and Sue McCarty.
Viola Jost attended the annual Past County Superintendents meeting in Great Bend. About 24 attended the meeting.
