"Hillsboro: A Community With Pride" signs were put up during the past week at the four entrance roads to Hillsboro. City crewmen working on the project were Don Claycomb, Herb Unruh and Wayne Lowry.
The Hillsboro girls wrapped up an impressive basketball season Friday night, but went out disappointed as they dropped their Sub-state semifinals game to Lindsborg 42-39. Hillsboro finished the season with a 17-3 record.
This spring will be a first for the Tabor women's athletic program. The Bluejay women will be fielding their first varsity softball team, while dropping the track program. The Tabor softball team is being coached by Karen McCabe with Carol Jenkins assisting.
The Mid-Kansas League coaches determined the all conference boys' and girls' teams at their meeting Tuesday night. Five Trojans placed in the polling, including three in the top five. Lawrence Brenneman and Gary Christiansen were in the top five on the boys team, and Sheldon Klassen placed seventh. Gayle Klassen made the top five on the girls' team, and Leann Funk placed seventh.
All six photographs submitted by Don Ratzlaff of Don's Studio, Hillsboro, were accepted for exhibition at the Kansas professional Photographers Association March 1-4 in Wichita.
Artist Marlys Penner, instructor at Tabor College, will be featured in the 1887 Olde Towne Gallery of Art Sunday from 2:30-5:00 p.m. She is known for her Kansas landscapes and flowers. She works in oil, watercolor and acrylics.
